Setting up for the Park County 2021 Constitution Bee

THE STORY OF ForThePeoplePark6

The attitude of the current Trustee board has been to shut out any opposition to their progressive manner of ruling the schools.

The total disregard of the public appeals to remove obscenity from our public-school libraries. All of their judgements have been by unanimous consent of the seven members of the board.

This trend toward the hostile takeover of the education system is nationwide. It has become a battle for our culture and for the young people we send to government schools. It has become a war like no other in the history of the world and it must stop.

The current administration will stop at nothing to keep power. If Californians can recognize the problem and remove 3 school board members in San Francisco, then surely, we can turn the tide here in Park County, Wyoming.  Be aware, research, have your children bring these 'library books' home for you to read.

SOME OF THE ISSUES

Critical Race Theory (CRT)

CRT is revisionist history at it best. Proponents of CRT have two goals. One, to divide the country. Two, to destroy capitalism. Ibram X. Kendi, a self-proclaimed anti-racist has stated, “In order to be truly antiracist, you also have to be truly anti-capitalist.” UCLA Law professor and CRT advocate Cheryl Harris has proposed suspending private property rights, seizing wealth and land, and re-distributing them along racial lines. CTR believes in teaching kids that they are defined by their skin color. This movement strikes at the very heart of American Exceptionalism.

Library Books

School libraries are academic libraries. Materials should reflect the need of the classes taught, not promote an agenda. Last year parents were alerted anytime their child checked out a questionable book. This year parents must “opt-in” to that program. Has the administration advertised this to parents?

If there is material in a book that is so offensive as to be counter to state and federal obscenity laws then it should not be in the library. If students cannot broad cast it in the halls and teachers in the classrooms, if students cannot say it to teachers or vice versa, then it should not be in the library for leisure reading? Obscenity is obscenity.

Boys in Girls' Sports

No.

Curriculum

There is no 'one size fits all' for students, teachers, or schools. We need to tailor the curriculum to the needs of the students and make sure it is rooted in reading, math and science and is reinforced enough to insure competency at graduation. One in ten students not graduating is unacceptable. A 53% failure rate in math is unacceptable. We must graduate students that can be competent contributors to the community. The ability to read AND comprehend what you are reading is currently at 60% of CHS graduates, WHY?  Our great Country was founded on Godly principles espousing love for our fellow Man. We are (or were) the only country in the world where it is believed that ALL people are created equal in the eyes of God?  We DO have rules and rule breakers must face their consequences.  Why is it that our current curriculum does not represent these facts? Why is it wrong for our children to love their country?

The curriculum must pay more attention to the trades in vocational studies. At present there are 22 journalism classes offered at CHS. This is unacceptable. We advocate for classes that would prepare students for the real world of commerce and being able to actually make things. The businesses in Cody could and would be glad to participate in this endeavor.

Social Engineering

Schools were created to teach reading, writing and arithmetic. Logical thinking and learning 'how to learn' were the tenets of the past. Let us return to them. Stop the rule of teaching 'what' to think and return to 'how' to think; how to reason; and how to research.

Lesbians, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) agendas have no business in our schools. Any teacher or school employee that promoted such indoctrination should be dismissed immediately.

Teachers should not be compelled to use nontraditional pronouns in the school setting.
